Hospitals slammed for poor nutritional care of elderly
This article is another article about the care of elderly people from the CQC. It is about how 3 of 12 hospitals they looked into failed to meet essential standards of nutrition and dignity. It says about how Poor nutrition and hydration have a real effect on patients, especially those with dementia, and they found people not being able to eat, not given enough to drink and weren't being spoken too properly. This article blames the staff saying it isn't hard to get it right and that they aren't getting it right is a concern. It says the hospitals have all the guidance and training materials they need, and that they should have made nutritional care a priority and have focused on redesigning systems to ensure that good nutritional care is delivered to all patients. So this article is blaming the staff as well as the hospital, when other articles say it isn't all the staffs fault when their is lacing of staff to take care of many patients.
